Olympians Write Open Letter Urging Lululemon to Commit to Stronger Climate Action Ahead of Paris Olympics

As the official outfitter for Team Canada in the upcoming Paris Olympics, Lululemon faces criticism from some athletes over its environmental practices. Canadian beach volleyball player Margo Malowney, along with athletes from Great Britain, Australia, and the Czech Republic, have signed a letter urging Lululemon to commit to stronger climate leadership.

The athletes applaud Lululemon’s support for athletes but express concern over the company's carbon footprint and reliance on fossil fuels. The letter calls for the company to set interim targets for renewable energy and support suppliers in transitioning to greener practices.

Advocacy groups EcoAthletes and Action Speaks Louder are backing the athletes’ demands, highlighting the need for Lululemon to adopt absolute emissions reduction targets and increase transparency about its supply chain.
